Today’s Good News
Kudos
to Officer Tori Wilson who was named
First Precinct’s
Officer of the Month for August! When Officer Wilson sees a problem in his sector, he goes beyond
giving it 100 percent in trying to curb it. One example from last month was
when he noticed a rash of car break-ins around the Belle Isle area and
requested that the Crime Analyst develop a map and timeline of the offenses to
see if any patterns could be identified.
Armed with that intelligence, he took the
next step and contacted local businesses to see if any of their security
cameras could provide information. It’s important to note that Officer Wilson
contacted these businesses on his own time, further illustrating his commitment
to problem solving quality of life issues in his sector. But Officer Wilson didn’t
stop there! He then worked with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office to
establish legal parameters involved with setting up more detailed operations. Every
aspect of Officer Wilson’s planning process was thoughtful and innovative and
shows that he is truly invested in addressing the problems in his sector. Thank
you and congratulations Officer Tori Wilson!
