Today’s Good News
Kudos
to Communications Officer Julia Correa who was named the Department’s Communications Officer of the Month for August!
From helping hire new communications officers to teaching during the
Department’s Hispanic Academy to handling high-impact situations, CO Correa is
a pro at handling it all! She
started off the month assisting Second Precinct officers during the Hispanic
Academy by giving them a tour of DEC and explaining how the call process works.
The 18 citizens were fascinating by everything she said and asked several
questions.
She
also shows her commitment to the Spanish-speaking community’s by volunteering
to assist those who call for help, saying it a labor of love that helps break
down barriers. CO Correa is also one of DEC’s top performers—averaging 734
calls per month with an average answer time of 4 seconds, an entry time of 12
seconds and a dispatch time of 13 seconds. All while maintaining a calm demeanor
during stressful situation. Now that’s impressive. Thank you and
congratulations Communications Officer Julia Correa!
