Daily Crime Report Discontinued
The Richmond Police Department will no longer prepare and email the Daily Crime Report.

Information contained in the Daily Crime Report may now be accessed by using a crime mapping service called RAIDS Online. It may be accessed here: www.richmondgov.com/police  or here: www.raidsonline.com

RAIDS Online will email you a list of reported crimes but, YOU MUST SIGN UP.

To begin the process, please click on Virginia on the RAIDS Online national map, then:

1.       In the menu of cities, select Richmond, VA.

2.       Click on the link “Sign up for crime alerts” in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

3.       In the address-line, type in an address of interest and select a radius. For the whole city, type in Belle Isle, Richmond, VA and select the five mile radius.

4.       Choose the “daily email” option for alerts every Monday through Friday.

Please note: overnight crime incidents are uploaded twice – Monday through Friday - at:

1.       11:00 p.m. – ensures the next day’s email contains most of the prior day’s reported crimes.

2.       6:00 a.m. – updates the crime map with crimes reported overnight.

(Uploads can take up to 40 minutes to complete)

In addition to the email option, RAIDS Online can be used in other ways to keep you informed about crime in your neighborhood.

Today’s Good News
Kudos to Crime Analyst Supervisor Renee Tate and Crime Analyst Karrie Toland who were recognized with our A Step Above award for June for their good work assisting the Chesterfield Police Department last month.

We are recognizing this talented pair after we received a very complimentary note from CPD who received their help during a recent crime analysis presentation and demonstration. “Ms. Tate and Ms. Toland did an outstanding job discussing and demonstrating the capabilities of your department’s crime analysis and mapping application to members of my staff, department, and Chesterfield County IST,” the CPD captain wrote.

“Ms. Tate and Ms. Toland were also able to answer a myriad of questions ranging from application setup and use to vendor specific IT related concerns and requirements. We were all very impressed with their overall application knowledge and the system's capabilities.

“Their knowledge and experience with this application has greatly assisted me and other department members with an objective overview and recommendation of the application and vendor. Their demonstration also highlighted and confirmed the regional benefit and need for the application.

“I greatly appreciate Renee Tate and Karrie Toland being allowed to meet with us regarding this matter. The professionalism displayed and level of knowledge shown to members of my department reflects positively on them and your department.”

We couldn’t have said it any better ourselves! Thank you and congratulations to Renee Tate and Karrie Toland, our “A Step Above” winners for June!
