After a recent business burglary on Jefferson Davis Highway, Second Precinct Detective Pedro Riddle worked hard on the case until he was able to identify the suspects. He later arrested several juveniles for the crime.

Third Precinct Officer James Early was recently driving on West Grace Street when he saw a driver hit another vehicle and continue driving. He stopped the vehicle, conducted field sobriety tests on the driver and determined he was intoxicated. As a result, he arrested the driver and charged him with DUI.

Today’s Good News
After three people were robbed at gunpoint on Cedar Street, First Precinct Officer Steven Thomas stopped the suspect's vehicle nearby and recovered the stolen items. Sgt. Michael Alston was able to link the items to the robbery while Detective Kevin Hughes obtained warrants and arrested the pair involved in the robbery. Great teamwork!

A Wallace Street homeowner recently called to report an in-progress burglary and gave the three suspects' description. Third Precinct Sgt. Danny Rhodenizer, Detective Charles Kane and Officer Joe Ronan spotted the suspects nearby trying to break into a car. Though the trio ran, they were caught and charged with burglary. The victim's belongings were also recovered.

Today’s Good News
Fourth Precinct Investigator Chris Foultz recently spotted a man--known to fight police--who was wanted for grand larceny. He broadcast the information and Officers Robert Capocelli and Frank Misiano saw the man nearby and gave chase. They quickly caught the suspect and found him with marijuana and crack cocaine. Their speedy response is greatly appreciated and will likely prevent further crimes in the Chamberlayne Avenue corridor.

Third Precinct Focus Mission Team investigators recently searched a home on Douglasdale Road. The search resulted in the arrest of one man who was charged with one misdemeanor as well as felony possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, felony possession with intent to distribute ecstasy and possession of marijuana. Investigators also seized crack cocaine, ecstasy pills, marijuana, nearly $4,000 in cash, drug packaging materials and drug paraphernalia.

First Precinct Focus Mission Team Officers Thomas Gilbert and Clyde Lindsey recently arrested a juvenile in the 1300 block of Coalter Street for a weapons violation. Fourth Precinct officers
recently responded to East Ladies Mile Road for a report of a burglary. After getting a suspect description, Officer Darin Papeo spotted the burglar, but lost him. With the assistance of other officers, detectives, K-9 units, Officer Todd Evans and Officer Allen Mark spotted and captured the suspect nearby. Detective John Walker interviewed the suspect and charged him with burglary.

Today’s Good News
A woman recently called to commend Fourth Precinct Officer Darryl Lee on his response to her call about an unknown person knocking on her door at night. “Officer Lee was quick to respond, was very helpful and gave me valuable information,” she said, adding that she was thankful there were officers like Lee hard at work in her neighborhood.

Today’s Good News
Fourth Precinct Officers Toney Waldorf and Robert Jamison recently stopped a speeding car on West Main Street. After they smelled marijuana, they searched his vehicle and seized more than 25 pounds of marijuana and more than $10,000 in cash. The driver was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Today’s Good News
A graffiti vandal recently pleaded guilty to 13 charges for vandalizing a Fan building. As punishment, he will serve 10 days in jail, complete 1,000 hours of community service with the Department of Public Works and pay nearly $4,000 in restitution. He is also banned from city parks and have 36 months of jail time suspended for three years. Good work by Third Precinct Environment Officer Ward Kuper who caught the vandal and investigated the case.
