Today’s Good News
Third Precinct officers recently responded to Monument and Colonial Street for a vandalism report. Officer Kier Hinton spotted two males spray painting graffiti on the wall and tried to arrest them, but they ran away. With the help of Sgt. Joe Hood and Officers Heather Truong, Glendon Cox and Jose Marte, the pair was caught and charged with four counts of vandalism.

Today’s Good News

After a woman’s purse was snatched on West Broad Street, Fourth Precinct Officer Justin Bauwens quickly responded. With the help of Officer George Soongnarata, Bauwens spotted the robber and they caught her even though she tried to walk away. After being interviewed by Detective Claude Picard, the woman was arrested and charged with robbery.

After two teens were recently robbed on West Broad Street, Fourth Precinct officers worked quickly with nearby VCU Police to capture the offender. Officer Thomas Croce gathered and broadcast the suspect information while two VCU Police officers spotted and caught the man. With the help of Fourth Precinct Detective L.C. Jones, the robber was identified and arrested.

First Precinct Officer Michael Verbena recently recognized several code violations during a narcotics search of a home on Edwards Avenue. He investigated, documented and submitted them to the Community Assisted Public Safety Unit. A day later, the property was condemned. “Officer Verbena’s problem-solving mindset resulted in a comprehensive solution involving multiple agencies. His professionalism and dedication resulted in removal of the offending individuals from the property and pending potential prosecution f the property owner.”

Today’s Good News

First and Second Precinct Focus Mission Team investigators recently searched a home on Stockton Street for narcotics violations. After finding and seizing two firearms, cash and narcotics, investigators arrested one man on several felony charges. Good work!

Today’s Good News

Third Precinct Officers Meridith Mullins and Ryan Bailey recently responded to the 100 block of South Addison Street after a man stole a tip jar from a business. With the help of Detective Patrick Ripley, the officers identified the thief but couldn’t immediately find him. A few days later, Officer Michael Kiniry found the suspect hiding at a relative’s house and arrested him without incident.
