Today’s Good News

It started with an attempt to steal a moped, but by the time Third Precinct Officers Heather Truong and Jose Marte had finished investigating, the offender was charged with attempted moped theft, motor vehicle theft and possession of burglary tools! It all began when the officers responded investigate the attempted moped theft on Blair Street. As they approached the suspect, he jumped in a truck and took off. Officer Marte was able to stop the truck and detain the driver while Officer Truong interviewed the victim, who positively identified the suspect. Officer Marte’s further investigation revealed the suspect’s truck was actually stolen so Officer Truong arrested the suspect after obtaining warrants for all three crimes! Sounds like a hat trick to us! Good work officers!
