Today’s Good News
Kudos to Officer Andre Guevara who was named Third Precinct’s Officer of the Month for June! It’s not always about the number of arrests and patrol hours, though Officer Guevara has plenty of those. It’s also about attitude, professionalism and mindset. Officer Guevara has that too and here’s a perfect example: On June 15, he was doing a warrant sweep at a hotel on Midlothian Turnpike and arrested a man who happened to be disabled. That man called the precinct the day after his arrest to COMPLIMENT Officer Guevara for how he treated him. The man said he appreciated Guevara’s help getting his stuff together and the respectful way he treated him. Here’s a quote: “Officer Guevara was real refreshing. I appreciate his treatment of me. I believe some day he will move up in your Department.”
Officer Guevara also focused on crime prevention last month, specifically in the St. Johns Woods neighborhood and Midlothian Turnpike business corridor. He attended community meetings, talked about the recent uptick in burglaries and gave residents safety tips. He even created a very informative and catchy flyer to hand out to residents to combat thefts from motor vehicles. Thank you and congratulations Officer Andre Guevara!
