Today’s Good News

Fourth Precinct Officer Donnie Watkins was on patrol Monday morning when he noticed an individual standing next to vehicle that didn’t have any license plates. When the man got into the vehicle and it started to drive away, he pulled in behind it and initiated a traffic stop. After he spoke with the driver and other passengers and their information about the car didn’t add up, he called for backup. As Officer Watkins was standing there, a call then went out about a burglary at a nearby auto business and one of the stolen vehicles matched the one he had stopped. With the assistance of Officers Prabhat McDonnough-Contreras and Jerry Scott, the three individuals were taken into custody. After further investigation by Detective Margaret Cunningham, the trio was charged with burglary, grand larceny and possession of stolen property in connection with that burglary. Good work!
