Kudos to Officer Farrhard El-Amin who was named Second Precinct’s Officer of the Month for June! When Officer El-Amin puts his mind to something, he usually gets results. One example of that last month was when he noticed an increase amount of criminal activity near two clubs in his sector. In an attempt to fight the problem before it became a major issue, he worked with other officers to form a plan to deal with the clubs.
With El-Amin’s guidance, the officers focused their efforts in those areas, including foot patrols and traffic stops to maintain a high visibility in the area. As a result, both clubs eventually shut down, improving the quality of life for the residents living in that area. Officer El-Amin is also known as a mentor to some of the younger officers at the precinct. He provides assistance to the supervisors at major scenes to let them know what resources are needed; and he maintains great relationships with community members.
