Thanks
to the quick response and actions by several First Precinct officers, a man is behind bars after trying to
assault a family member. First Precinct
Officers Chad Collins, Brian Huddleston, James Peck and Sarah Campbell
recently responded to a home after a woman reported that a family member was
threatening her and wouldn’t let her leave a room in her house. When the
officers attempted to speak with the family member, he refused to unlock the
door and threatened to assault the officers if they entered. The officers
unscrewed and removed the doorknob, but the door remained stuck. That’s when
Officer Huddleston kicked the door and forced it open. The officers quickly and
safely took the family member into custody and charged him with domestic
assault and abduction. They also assisted the victim who suffered minor
injuries. Good work officers.
