Dec. 9 – Dec. 10, 2013

Today’s Good News
Two men who may have thought they’d successfully robbed a man at gunpoint were recently arrested within minutes of the crime thanks to the keen observation skills and speedy response of First Precinct officers. Officer Matthew Robinson was the first officer on scene and he interviewed the victim and quickly broadcast the suspects’ descriptions as well as the victim’s car, which they had stolen. He was still speaking with the victim when Officer Kelly Morley spotted the vehicle and attempted to stop it. The vehicle refused to stop, crashed and both suspects ran away.

Officers Harry Fitzpatrick and Steven Moore quickly took one man into custody while detectives later identified and captured the second man. After further investigation by Detective David Cuffley, one man was charged with armed robbery, attempted murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The second man was charged with robbery. Good work officers!
