Today’s Good News
Kudos to Officer Jean Therency who was named Second Precinct’s Officer of the Month
for November! When it
comes to identifying and responding to problems in his sector, Officer Therency
is often ahead of the game thanks to his proactive approach and dedication. For
example, he regularly volunteers to participate in any event in the city
schools and serves as a mentor to students at the Boys and Girls Club where he
engages the kids in conversation and appropriate conflict resolution.
Another example from last month is when he
noticed an increase in suspicious activity and drug dealing in front of a business
in Midlothian Turnpike. He quickly made it his focus to identify the dealers,
conduct regular business checks and get to know the citizens hanging out in the
area. Thanks to his efforts, the activity dissipated. Because of Officer
Therency’s good knowledge of his sector and attention to detail, he was also
able to identify and detain a burglary suspect for detectives that later led to
the clearance of several pending burglary cases. These are just a few of the
examples of Officer Therency’s good work in Second Precinct. Thank you, and
