Today’s Good News
Kudos to Officer Cleavester Ferrell who was named Fourth Precinct’s Officer of the Month for November! It’s not always about the numbers,
though Officer Ferrell has plenty to show for the month, including responding
to 66 radio calls, 21 sight calls and assisting 18 other units.
But for Officer Ferrell, it’s all about the
community relationships. He has spent more time on foot in Jackson Ward than
any other officer in Sector 413. His personal patrols go a long way toward
building and nurturing the important relationships needed to fight crime in
that area. For example, when Community Care hosted a crime prevention seminar
geared toward small business owners last month, Officer Ferrell took the
initiative to hand out more than 30 flyers to every business he could find in
the sector. He took personal responsibility to ensure that every business owner
had the opportunity to participate if they wanted.
Overall, Officer Ferrell is a big asset to
Sector 413 and the Department as a whole and his efforts to further community
engagement and participation are key to community policing. Thank you, and
congratulations Officer Cleavester Ferrell!
