Today’s Good News
After
the Division of Emergency Communications
recently broadcast the suspect description of a man who’d just robbed a
business in Chesterfield and was a suspect in two city robberies, First Precinct Master Patrol Officer Sharon
Slavey took the initiative to start driving along the Jefferson Davis
Highway corridor, which contains several commercial businesses.
As she drove north, she noticed a vehicle
matching the suspect’s description sitting in a parking lot and quickly turned
around. When the vehicle attempted to back out of the lot, Officer Slavey
positioned herself safely behind the car so it couldn’t move. Without
hesitation, she immediately began giving the suspect commands while waiting for
backup to safely make the arrest. After further investigation the man was
charged with both city and county robberies. Thanks to Officer Slavey’s proactive
approach and smart police tactics, a violent felon was quickly taken off of the
streets. Good work Master Police Officer Slavey!
