Today’s Good News
Thanks to the
speedy response and good observation skills of several First Precinct
officers, a man who robbed a woman at gunpoint on Friday was quickly
arrested. The woman was walking behind a business on Maury Street when the man
approached her, displayed a firearm and stole her purse. Officers canvassed the
area and spotted a man matching the robber’s description, but when they tried
to detain him, he ran. Though they lost sight of him, they were able to gather
information about his location from community members with whom they have good
relationships. A short time later, they searched a home and found him hiding inside
a bathroom. He was then safely arrested and charged accordingly. Good work
officers!
