Today’s Good News
First Precinct
Sergeant Jayson Walter was working an off duty assignment at a city business
last night, but that didn’t stop him from going above and beyond the call of
duty to help a homeless veteran. Sergeant Walter has often seen and spoken with
this veteran many times. Last night, he knew how cold it was and that the man
had nowhere to stay. So Sergeant Walter gave his own money and asked a fellow
officer to run to the store and buy the veteran a sleeping bag and pair of
gloves to keep him warm. Though Sergeant Walter could not leave his place of
duty, he wanted to make sure the veteran stayed warm. Thank you, Sergeant
Walter, for your kindness and for going above and beyond.
