Today’s Good News
Please
join us at 1 p.m. today at the November Theater, 114 W. Broad St., for
our Summer Salute to Excellence Awards
Ceremony! During the ceremony, we will recognize and honor two officers who were shot and injured
in the line of duty. We will also recognize three Third Precinct officers who worked
in the lobby of their own precinct to save a stabbing victim, whose wounds required
more than 200 stitches. We will also thank our community members, such as a South
Side business owner who, in the spirit of the season, brought Christmas dinner
to the officers on duty at Second Precinct. These are just a few examples of
the acts by members of the Richmond Police Department and members of the
community that will be honored.
The
Department will also announce the precinct and sectors that have had the
largest crime reductions during the first two quarters of the year and hand out
several other awards to recognize many of the great, hardworking officers,
civilians, volunteers and community partners we have working for us and you,
our community! We hope to see you there!
