Today’s Good News
Though officers can’t always be everywhere to
stop all crimes, they can be in the right places at the right times to make a
quick arrest. That was the case recently when Fourth Precinct officers responded to investigate a burglary on
Fauquier Avenue. Officer Josh Umbel
interviewed the victim about three people who had broken into his screened-in
porch and stolen in his bicycle and quickly broadcast the suspects’ descriptions.
As the information was coming across the radio, Detectives James Higgins and Kristie Reed spotted the suspects
riding the stolen bicycle a few streets away and detained them. After being
positively identified by the victim, the trio was charged with burglary and
grand larceny and the stolen bike returned to its owner. Good work Fourth
Precinct!
