Fourth Precinct
Officer Raymond Misegades is very productive, making several arrests, responding
to 70 radio calls recently and assisting several other officers on calls, but
he has also embraced the idea that effective police officers do more than make
arrests and run calls: They make positive connections to their communities. For
example, Officer Misegades often goes out of his way to assist the city’s
homeless individuals. Last month, he purchased several bottled waters and
handed them out to help them deal with the 90-degree heat. He also makes a
concerted effort to ensure they know how and where to obtain helpful services
from the city and private facilities. It’s little things like this that some
may not see as part of his regular duties or a big deal, but they actually go a
long way in improving the quality of life for all citizens in Richmond. Thank
