June 3 – June 4, 2014

Today’s Good News
Kudos to Officer Todd Hall who was named Second Precinct’s Officer of the Month for April! Officer Hall’s name should really be “Johnny on the Spot” for his productivity, his drive to make the community a better place and for two incredible responses he made last month.

Early in the month, he was the first officer on the scene of a triple shooting. He didn’t hesitate to apply his medical training to one of the victims he found suffering critical injuries. His hard work kept the victim stable until the scene was secure enough for the Richmond Ambulance Authority to enter and transport the victim to the hospital. Doctors later said the man would have likely died were it not for Officer Hall’s efforts.

During the second incident, Officer Hall was one of several officers who responded to a homicide scene at Southside Plaza. Thanks to his good knowledge of his sector, he knew there were only two exits out of that location so he listened for the vehicle description and slowed his response to monitor vehicles leaving in the area.

Minutes later, he spotted the suspect vehicle, quickly made a U-turn and conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the suspect’s quick arrest as well as the seizure of the murder weapon still in the suspect’s possession. These are just some of the reasons Officer Todd Hall is our April Second Precinct Officer of the Month! Thank you and congratulations!
