Today’s Good News
Thanks to the keen
eyes of VCU Police and good detective work by Third Precinct
investigators, a man who robbed another man in the Fan was arrested in less
than 30 minutes on Friday night! Officer Marley Williams was the first
officer on scene and after interviewing the victim, she quickly broadcast the
suspect’s description and last known direction of travel.
Approximately 24
minutes later, VCU Police
Officer Chelsey Cocke spotted a man matching that description. With
the assistance of VCU Police
Officer Matthew McCarty, Sgt.
Kyle Frail and Cpl. Mark Bailey, they safely took
him into custody, finding both a firearm and the stolen property. After further
investigation by Detective Charles Kane, the man confessed to the
robbery and was charged accordingly. Great teamwork VCUPD and RPD!
