Second Precinct sergeant recently
wrote to commend First Precinct Officer
David Woods for his actions during a shooting that occurred Monday. “I just
wanted to let you know what an outstanding job Officer Woods did (even though)
he was working off duty on Hull Street when the shooting occurred. He responded
immediately and started helping us out with a chaotic scene that was actually
two scenes and several vehicles leaving the area,” the sergeant wrote.
“Officer
Woods not only responded and offered assistance there on scene, but noticed
that an ambulance had left the scene to take one victim to the hospital without
an officer following. Officer Woods quickly followed and stayed with the victim
for several hours until other officers could control the scene and send another
officer to relieve him. Please thank him again for me and my platoon.”
