Today’s Good News
Kudos
to Officer Robert Taylor who was named Second Precinct’s Officer of the Month for October! Officer Taylor ran more than 70
calls last month and assisted several officers with incidents, but it was a
situation on Oct. 17 that really showcased his skills as a police officer who
cares about his community.
He took charge of a call about a suicidal
veteran who had cut himself and was hiding in a wooded area. Officer Taylor was
able to find a phone number and make contact with the man. He then developed a
rapport with him based on their experiences in the military and as combat
veterans. Through that conversation, he was able to find the man’s location,
and even though the man had lost a pint of blood, Officer Taylor was able to
stop the bleeding and stabilize him until he could be transported to the
hospital. Officer Taylor even stayed with the man until he was admitted. Thank
you and good work, Officer Robert Taylor!
