Kudos
to Fourth Precinct Detective Mark Godwin
who was named the Department’s
Problem Solver of the Month for October! Since joining the unit four months ago,
Detective Godwin has secured a 100 percent robbery clearance rate for the 6
cases assigned to him as well as a higher-than-the-national average clearance
rate for his investigations into other crimes.
Detective Godwin’s hunch during one robbery
investigation in particular sealed the deal. As he was interviewing a victim
whose cell phone had been stolen, the offender was spotted nearby and quickly
detained. On a hunch, Detective Godwin called the victim’s stolen cell phone,
which then rang while in the offender’s hand inside his pocket! But Detective
Godwin also goes above and beyond to help his fellow detectives when they need
it and to develop good relationships with concerned citizens, allowing him to
gather information more easily and solve several cases throughout the
Department. Thank you, and congratulations to Detective Mark Godwin!
