Nov. 5 – Nov. 6, 2013

Today’s Good News
Kudos to Officer Stephen Butler who was named First Precinct’s Officer of the Month for October! Officer Butler may be known for his constant smile and outgoing personality, but he’s also known for his dedication to combating violent crime in Sector 113. Despite changing schedules last month, he made 10 felony arrests, 8 misdemeanors arrests, served 14 warrants, seized 2 firearms and made several drugs arrests.

He constantly works to keep himself familiar with all the citizens he encounters, which paid off during a patrol in the Fairfield area one day. He approached a group of individuals standing in the middle of the road and when man intentionally turned his body, Officer Butler investigated further and discovered a hidden firearm with a laser sight. Further investigation revealed the man was a convicted robber. He was quickly arrested and charged. Officer Butler also takes the time to attend community meetings to develop relationships and keep citizens aware of what’s going on in their neighborhoods. He brings back information about problems to his lieutenant so issues can be addressed. Thank you and congratulations Officer Stephen Butler!
