Kudos
to Communications Officer Tiffany Ampy who
was named the Department’s
Communications Officer of the Month for September! Even a quick look at the
work of CO Ampy shows she is well on her way to a successful career. Ten months
ago, CO Ampy was certified as a training officer and has been recognized for
her exemplary work since.
One highlight leaps straight off the
page: CO Ampy was on the service channel with an officer who requested
information on a wanted person – when the subject fled from the officer and
dashed through a wooded area. CO Ampy calmly called additional units, requested
a supervisor to monitor the situation – and deftly coordinated all the moving
units as they eventually made the arrest. Her work was not done, however, as
she then entered an EMS event due to the scrapes and cuts the officers received
pursuing through the wooded area. Good job. Thank you and congratulations CO
Ampy!
