Today’s Good News
Kudos
to Officer Charles Baldwin who was
named Second Precinct’s Officer of the
Month for March! Officer
Baldwin recently returned to the Department and he immediately picked up right
where he left off in terms of productivity, being involved in the community and
motivating his fellow officers.
When it
comes to problem solving, Officer Baldwin often goes to Lt. Darrell Goins to
ask what the most pressing issues are and then comes up with a plan to address
them. A few examples include speaking with a lot of non-residents who were
congregating in Southwood and gathering information about suspicious
individuals to pass along to the Southwood Unit. He’s also known for his dogged
determination when it comes to finding wanting persons in Sector 212. Officer
Baldwin uses every tool available to find common threads that then lead him to
the wanted person.
But
leadership is where he really shines. He’s such a people person with a positive
and proactive outlook that it motivates everyone else around him. He regularly
shares his sector knowledge with other officers; aids officers on high priority
calls; and provides assistance in reading lineups and daily briefing
information.
Sector Lt.
Goins says of Baldwin: “If I could build an officer, it would be Officer
Baldwin. He has every aspect that a police officer should have:
professionalism, excellent work ethic and he’s a team player.”
We think
that sums it up! Thank you and congratulations Officer Charles Baldwin, our Second
Precinct Officer of the Month!
