Today’s Good News
Good memory and great intuition helped Second Precinct officers make an arrest
during a routine traffic stop recently. While on patrol on Broad Rock
Boulevard, Officers Brian Rogers and Justin Sumpter noticed a vehicle with a defective brake light. When
officers approached the vehicle they recognized the driver for his past
offenses and noticed that he was acting extremely nervous. Because of how well
they knew him, they felt his behavior was highly unusual and decided to
investigate further. Officers asked him to exit the vehicle and searched the
car. That’s when they found a kitchen knife, a pair of brass knuckles, a
fully-loaded firearm and a bag of cocaine. They subsequently arrested the man
and charged him with possession of a firearm and cocaine. Great work officers!
