Kudos
to Fourth Precinct Detective Dale
Shamburg who was named the Department’s Problem Solver of the Month for December! After
a spate of armed robberies at businesses across the city since October, the
Fourth Precinct Focus Mission Team was tasked with taking the lead to solve
them.
Detective Shamburg attended all meetings
when case updates were discussed and volunteered with late night surveillances
conducted on possible suspects connected to the robberies. On Dec. 27, the FMT
Tactical Unit came in contact with two possible suspects during the execution
of a search warrant. The two suspects
were transported back to the precinct to be interviewed by Detective Shamburg.
Thanks to his good interviewing skills
and hard work, he obtained a confession from one of the suspects and identified
other individuals who were involved in the crimes. This was KEY to cracking the
case! Even though the investigation is still ongoing, one of the individuals
will be charged in all eight robberies as well as indicted for other robberies.
This great work is in addition to Detective
Shamburg’s good work solving other crimes and obtaining a 50 percent clearance
rate for robberies and shoplifting as well as a 100 percent clearance rate for
motor vehicle thefts. Thank you and congratulations Fourth Precinct Detective
