June 18 – June 19, 2012

Today’s Good News
Kudos to Officer Derrick Longoria who was named Second Precinct’s Officer of the Month for May! Officer Longoria’s patrols along the Jeff Davis corridor often take his policing efforts into Chesterfield County where he’s built a great working relationship that paid off during a recent traffic stop in the county. Thanks to their joint efforts, which included Officer Longoria’s in-depth knowledge of the targets, a search warrant was obtained that allowed officers to seize a firearm, crack cocaine and more than $2,500 in cash from a criminal.

Officer Longoria’s great community partnerships also resulted in the identification of a man who shot another person on Jeff Davis Highway and the capture of two accomplices. Officer Longoria recognizes the importance of having community partners in all areas of the community – a great quality to have, making him Second Precinct’s Officer of the Month for May. Congratulations!
