March 7 – March 8, 2013

Today’s Good News

Kudos to Officer Chad Collins who was named First Precinct’s Officer of the Month for February! Thanks to Officer Collins’ speedy response and good investigation, a man wanted for breaking into several vehicles in the East End is behind bars. After receiving a call about a man throwing a rock through a car window, Officer Collins responded and quickly detained a person matching the suspect’s description. Thanks to solid information he gathered from witnesses, the man confessed to the crimes during an interview with Officer Collins. Additional charges are pending.

But Officer Collins didn’t stop there. He was also quick to respond with two other officers when a vehicle refused to stop for a traffic infraction on Whitcomb Street. The incident turned into a brief vehicle pursuit and then foot pursuit, but with Officer Collins’ help, the two occupants were safely caught and charged with numerous felonies. Good work and thank you Officer Collins!
