Dec. 17 – Dec. 18, 2012

Today’s Good News

Kudos to Officer Prabhat McDonnough-Contreras who was named Fourth Precinct’s Officer of the Month for November! Officer M-C, as he’s known, spent the month patrolling in the right places at the right times and boy did it pay off! His constant patrols in in the Highland Park area were a key factor in crime reduction and is believed to have contributed to a drastic reduction in residential burglaries in that area. During one particular incident, he was responding to investigate suspicious individuals when he heard another call two blocks away for a burglary.

Thanks to his speedy response with Officer Todd Evans, four individuals were detained and determined to be both the suspicious individuals and the burglars! They were arrested, and detectives determined that they were connected to several other burglaries in the area. Good work! Officer M-C also serves as the precinct’s Spanish translator for victims and suspects. His ability to communicate with those who have limited English speaking ability has been a huge asset not only to patrol officers, but also precinct detectives. Thank you Officer McDonnough-Contreras.
