Kudos to Officer Thomas Neale who was named Fourth Precinct’s Officer of the Month for February! Officer Neale is very knowledgeable of the unique challenges of patrolling the downtown business and entertainment areas and often uses alternative patrols, such as walking the beat or bicycling, even when temperatures are in the low 30s! While checking a parking lot on Feb. 6, he noticed a parked vehicle with several people inside and a thick layer of smoke. He approached the driver’s side, asked them to roll down the window and immediately smelled marijuana. With the help of other officers, Officer Neale arrested one person and seized marijuana. Great job!
