April 25 – April 26, 2012

Today’s Good News
Third Precinct Master Patrol Officer Roger Yutzey recently responded to German School Road to investigate a missing elderly woman who suffered from dementia. He worked through a language barrier to learn that the woman had been missing in cold temperatures only wearing pajamas that night. With a wind chill factor of 34 degrees, Third Precinct Officers Kenneth Harris, Nakisha Franks, Kelly Morley, Chris Williams, Joseph Ronan, Jacob DeBoard and Michael Kiniry fanned out to search the building and surrounding property. K9 Officers Sammy Hernandez and Monty Agee with K9 Niko and Koda also volunteered to assist in the search while Officers Gary Venable and Carl Scott worked together to cover all the other precinct calls during this time.

About 45 minutes later, Officers DeBoard and Kiniry found the woman with minor injuries huddled by a tree. Both officers quickly wrapped their jackets around her and Officer Kiniry covered her head with his stocking cap until an ambulance arrived. Thanks to the quick thinking, actions and teamwork of all of these officers, they diverted possible tragedy and reunited the woman with her family. Good job!
