November 4 - 5, 2010

Today’s Good News
Community Care’s Lt. John Darnes was recognized this week for some of his great work outside the Department. The Central Virginia Football Officials Association presented him with their top award for 2010 for his leadership and mentorship. Additionally, he worked almost the entire season with torn cartilage in one knee, opting to put off corrective surgery until December and soldier on through his schedule, thanks in small part to a pair of cortisone shots and in large part to his grit and determination. This is no small feat for a back judge, a position that requires almost constant running.
