Today’s Good News
Kudos to Officer Lemont Carey who was named First Precinct’s Officer of the Month for January!
If it weren’t for Officer Carey, a prolific East End burglar might still be breaking into homes. Officer Carey responded to the initial burglary call, spotted the burglar running and took off after him. Despite a long foot pursuit, Officer Carey refused to give up, caught the suspect and detectives later cleared 8 cases from that one arrest!
Throughout the month of January, Officer Carey spent 15 hours on walking patrol, made 20 merchant visits, served 7 warrants and responded to 98 radio calls. No task is too small for this 7-year veteran and he takes every opportunity to make a good arrest, keep the community safe, and make sure the Department is represented well. Thank you Officer Carey!
