Today’s Good News
The Division of Emergency Communications staff did an incredible job during the earthquake Tuesday. Several employees from all shifts worked overtime to assist. Communications Officer Robin Peters Brown came in to help; Assistant Communications Officer Supervisor Felicia Roane worked to get the much-needed bus for the evacuated elderly citizens; CO Cynthia Stewart worked to get the building inspector to City Hall; CO Rebecca Wolz and ACOS Craig Gwynne nailed down fire radio requirements. CO Katie Biddix eyed her phone just waiting for it to ring so that she could answer it quickly and get the citizen caller help. These are just several examples of great work that took place during this citywide emergency. There were over 200 calls for service during a 27 minute period, including 86 police events and 46 fire events. Thank you all! Great job, great team, great work!
