Today’s Good News
Note to criminals: It’s going to take more than a wardrobe change to fool our officers. Case in point: First Precinct Officer Reynaldo Perez was recently on patrol on Coalter Street when he noticed a man breaking into a home. As he got out of his vehicle and began to approach, the man took off running and tried to hide inside another house. With the assistance of Officer Russell Pearce, the multiple men inside the home came out and Officer Perez immediately recognized the burglar despite the fact that he had switched clothes with another man. Officer Perez arrested the man and charged him with attempted burglary and possession of burglary tools. Good work!

Today’s Good News
Fourth Precinct officers recently investigated an in-progress burglary that quickly turned dangerous, but the officers’ instinct and good training kicked in to keep everyone safe. At approximately 2 a.m., officers were dispatched to a burglary call and heard people inside the residence. After they announced their presence, the burglars ran out of the home and one of them knocked over and assaulted an officer on the ground.

Responding officers quickly set up a perimeter and used a K-9 team to locate a hiding suspect and made a safe arrest. Good work K-9 Officer Rob Gregory, K-9 Bullit, Sgt. Shane Waite and Officers Marc Troy, Naitraj David, Arnold Bohanan Jr., George Banks, Aaron Henning, Robert Knight, Anthony McRae, Nicholas Stirrett, Willie O’Neil, and Virgil Burton!
