Today’s Good News
Some investigations can be quite challenging for detectives, but it’s their perseverance that often solves the case. That was the situation recently for First Precinct Detective Brian Taylor who obtained a surveillance image of a robbery suspect that, though grainy, clearly showed the robber’s distinctive clothing. After giving patrol officers the image and information, Officers Adrian Jenkins and Ronald McClarin spotted the suspect while on patrol. Though the man took off running, the officers quickly arrested him.
However, Detective Taylor could not reach the victim to make a positive identification and had to release the suspect after recording his information. Not giving up, Detective Taylor investigated further and learned the suspect had lied about his identity to conceal the fact that he was wanted. When spotted by police, the suspect ran again, but was recaptured, later identified as the robber by the victim and also linked to robberies in the Second Precinct area. Thanks to this great police work, follow through and teamwork displayed by these officers, a violent offender has been removed from city streets. Good work!
