Today’s Good News
After officers broadcast a suspected burglar’s vehicle description, Second Precinct Officer Anthony Ratliff spotted the vehicle and stopped it on Holly Springs Drive. With the assistance of Officer Timothy Wade, they investigated and discovered the stolen copper as well as burglary tools inside the vehicle. They arrested the three men inside on charges of burglary tool possession, vandalism and grand larceny in connection with this crime and another one in that same area the day before. Good job!

Today’s Good News
After an older man with serious medical issues went missing in an area in which he was unfamiliar, several Youth and Family Crimes detectives and First and Second Precinct patrol officers searched for him extensively. Officers checked main roads, shopping areas, stores and other locations. After almost two hours, Detective David Melvin found the man sitting at a bus stop and safely returned him to his family. Good work!

Today’s Good News
Second Precinct officers recently responded to a business on Hull Street after it was robbed at gunpoint. Within minutes, Sgt. Wesley Partin, Officer Julio Rodriguez, Officer Ezequiel Canete, K9 Officer James Turner and K9 Arek spotted and caught the robber after he ran. They also recovered the firearm he threw away as he ran. Detectives Pedro Riddle and Mark Hatchett interviewed the robber and charged him with robbery, use of a firearm during a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Good work officers and detectives!

Today’s Good News
Third Precinct Detective Jack Larry recently investigated a robbery that occurred after the victim tried to sell some item online. When he suspected two of the other “victims” were involved in the crime, he convinced them to come and speak with him at the precinct. After a lengthy interview, both suspects constantly changed their stories and eventually confessed to being a part of the robbery setup. Det. Larry arrested them—as well as the initial robbers—and charged them all with several felonies. Good work!

Third Precinct Detective Jack Larry recently investigated a robbery that occurred after the victim tried to sell some item online. When he suspected two of the other “victims” were involved in the crime, he convinced them to come and speak with him at the precinct. After a lengthy interview, both suspects constantly changed their stories and eventually confessed to being a part of the robbery setup. Det. Larry arrested them—as well as the initial robbers—and charged them all with several felonies. Good work!

Officers Obie Arrington and Ryan Taylor spotted the suspect nearby and quickly arrested him. Detective Greg Russell interviewed the suspect and charged him with armed robbery. Nice teamwork!

Today’s Good News
Fourth Precinct Officers Steven Szeles and Brad Hirst recently responded to the 500 block of West Broad Street for a report of two men who’d been robbed. The men reported the robbers assaulted them and fled in a vehicle. Minutes later, Third Precinct Officer Steve Fields spotted the vehicle and stopped it in the 2500 block of West Broad Street with the assistance of Fourth Precinct Officers Michael Nyantakyi, Michael DiSalvo, Jerome Andrzejczak, Austin Darnell and Ken Payne. Detectives Richard Thomas and Patrick Mansfield interviewed the five individuals and subsequently arrested and charged them all with robbery. Good work officers and detectives!
