Today’s Good News
First Precinct Sgt. Robert Kin noticed a man acting suspiciously as he left a business at 25th and East Main streets yesterday. When he stopped to investigate further, the store manager emerged and said the man had just stolen items from the store. Though the man ran away, Sgt. Kin gave chase and caught him, charging the man with shoplifting. Additionally, Sgt. Kin identified and arrested a female accomplice. Speedy work Sgt. Kin!

Today’s Good News
Second Precinct Detective Mark Hatchett recently responded to Atwell Lane for an assault and robbery. After he tended to the victim and broadcast the suspect’s description, Officer Jerry Scarborough spotted possible suspects nearby and with the assistance of Officers Charles Taylor and Tim Wade detained them. After further investigation with the help of Officer Jason Holt, who recovered the victim’s stolen wallet, one man was charged with robbery and more charges are possible. Good work!

Today’s Good News
Fourth Precinct Officers David Ruland, Arnold Bohanan, Robert Knight and Marc Troy recently assisted a man for medical issues and learned he may have ingested illegal drugs. They investigated further and searched a home on North Adams Street. There they found almost two pounds of marijuana, packaging materials, cash and growing materials. They then arrested one man and charged him with possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Good investigative work!

Today’s Good News
A woman called to thank the Richmond Police Department Officers and the SWAT team for their handling of the incident on Orcutt Lane earlier this month. She specifically commended officers for calming the fears of residents during the several hours that officers were looking for a suspect. And she was overjoyed to learn the suspect has been arrested.

Today’s Good News
After three robberies and two shootings in the Southwood neighborhood, Major Crimes Detectives Ed Aeschlimann and Tony Coates and Aggravated Assault Team B worked many long hours with Second Precinct Focus Mission Team and Patrol officers to investigate and monitor several suspects. Thanks to their hard work, they arrested nine people, charging them with numerous crimes related to the incidents and seized several firearms. Good work!
