Today’s Good News
K-9 Officer James Turner and K-9 Arek recently responded to Hillside Court to assist officers with a possible armed robbery. As officers attempted to make contact with the suspect inside an apartment, several people ran out of the building. Officer Turner and K-9 Arek searched the apartment for the armed suspect and K-9 Arek alerted to a pile of clothes inside a closet. With the help of other officers, the suspect was found beneath the clothes. K-9 Arek did a great job of locating the suspect while Officer Turner did an outstanding job maintaining control of his dog while alerting to the pile of clothes. Another violent offender located and taken off the streets by our K-9 partners!

Today’s Good News
K9 Officer Rob Gregory and K9 Bullit recently responded to West Franklin Street to assist officers who were searching for a suspect who had led them on a vehicle pursuit and then ran away. K9 Bullit immediately began to alert on a patch of bushes and when officers checked, they found the suspect hiding in the bushes. The suspect was arrested without incident and charged with DUI and eluding police. Good work!

After receiving information from Officer Gary Venable, they learned the vehicle had just left the scene of an accident on West Broad Street. Capt Michael Zohab spotted the vehicle and, with the assistance of other officers, pulled it over. After further investigation, officers arrested the driver on multiple charges related to driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident. Good work officers!

Today’s Good News
It’s not always easy to find people who are wanted for crimes in the city. Addresses are wrong, people move and sometimes the names are different on the warrants.
