Today’s Good News
A man recently e-mailed to commend Third Precinct Officer Carl Scott for returning several important documents that had been lost. “He was extremely pleasant, professional and customer service-oriented,” the man wrote. “Officer Scott made me and my family feel safe. When I continued to thank him for his actions he refused to take personal responsibility for his service. He then deflected his good service towards his Police Department as he stated ‘That’s what we do.’ It was apparent that Officer Scott was representing the City of Richmond in the highest traditions of the Police Department.” Great job, Officer Scott!

Today’s Good News

Several Second Precinct officers recently sprang into action and worked together after a vehicle drove recklessly away from a gas station on Belt Boulevard. Off duty Officer Lindsay Wallace followed the vehicle until Officer Kevin Knudsen got closer and attempted to stop the vehicle. The suspects jumped from the vehicle while it was still moving, but Officer Knudsen jumped into the vehicle and stopped it before it could hit an occupied apartment building. One arrest was made and officers are still investigating. Good work!

Third Precinct Officer Gary Venable recently responded to Meade Street for a report of vandalism. Citizens told him that some attendees of a nearby house party had been writing graffiti on traffic signs. Officer Venable identified the attendees and found them with the markers. Today’s Good News

After receiving information from the community, Third Precinct Focus Mission Team Officers Elmer Fernandez and James Hale recently stopped a vehicle in the 6100 block of Keaneland Drive. They arrested an individual in the vehicle and charged him with multiple felonies after finding crack cocaine, marijuana, ecstasy pills and cash. Good work officers and citizens for working together!

Today’s Good News

Fourth Precinct Sgt. David Naoroz, Sgt. Jean-Guy LeGouffe and Officer Jill Simons were the first officers on scene last night at a midnight house fire on Edgehill Avenue. The trio entered the smoke-filled house several times trying to rescue an elderly resident. Once firefighters arrived, they were able to work together to remove her safely from the burning home.

Today’s Good News

Third Precinct Officer Shannon Reynolds recently spotted a person wanted by both Richmond and Henrico Police standing in the 2000 block of West Cary Street. The suspect gave the officer a fake identification card in an attempt to hide his identity, but Officer Reynolds was not fooled and arrested the suspect.
